History

The story of Haka Kalıp begins in the 1890s, in the workshop of Aram Usta, one of Türkiye's finest last makers. His hand-craft tradition of last making passed to his son, Agop Canmelkonyan.

Rıdvan Tekinalp trained as an apprentice under Agop Usta and in time became his partner. After Agop Usta's passing, Rıdvan Usta carried the workshop on and brought the craft into his own family. Today, Haka Kalıp is run by the fourth generation of the Tekinalp family.

The name Haka comes from the Turkish verb 'hakketmek', meaning to carve or engrave into hard surfaces; the craftsman who practises this art is called a 'hakkâk'. The root is the Arabic word 'hakk', to carve.

A journey that began with hand craftsmanship continues today with 3D scanning, CNC production and AI-assisted modelling. The technology has changed, but the goal has not: to produce, as accurately as possible, the last that gives a shoe its shape.

Haka today

Haka Kalıp produces with 3D scanning, CNC machines working to a tolerance of ±0.1 mm, and AI-assisted modelling. The process runs in four steps: experienced last makers develop the model with AI support; a sample is produced as a single or a pair, presented for your approval and revised if needed; the approved model goes into CNC series production; and your order is tracked in real time through the customer portal.

The company makes lasts for sport, classic, kids and fashion footwear and works with leading footwear brands in Türkiye and abroad. Beyond Türkiye, it serves footwear manufacturers in the Balkans, the Middle East and Europe.

The homepage of hakakalip.com displays a live production counter showing pairs produced and model projects, so real production figures are publicly visible at any time. Plastic lasts are made with partly recycled raw material; end-of-life lasts are fed back into the production cycle, and CNC chips and offcuts are separated and recycled.

Haka Kalıp manufactures eight last types:

  • With size plate (Künyeli)
  • Without size plate (Künyesiz)
  • Slip last (Kaymalı)
  • Hinged last (Kırmalı)
  • Spring-hinged last (Sustalı)
  • With toe iron (Burun demirli)
  • With heel iron (Ökçe demirli)
  • Toe-separated (Parmak aralı)
